Dawson Community Centre is celebrating 50 years of service to the community in Verdun! This anniversary will commemorate our shared history and we will honor the efforts of Dawson’s alumni, its members, our partners, and the families that have been a part of the center. This year will feature a series of events that will unite and strengthen our community, and inspire us all to continue forging another 50 years of history in Verdun.

May 27th, 2009 - The Launching of the 50th -
An event not to be missed, the launching will kick off this historic year with food, entertainment, guest speakers and a few more surprises, this event is open to all.


Reunion Weekend


Saturday August 1st - Dawson Street Fest - 9-5pm
Our Street Fest celebration will take over Woodland between Bannantyne and Verdun Avenues, and will feature plenty of goodies like entertainment, kid’s games, food, and stuff for the whole family!

Saturday August 1st - Dance - 8pm
Adults book the babysitters because we are going to P.A.R.T.Y!!! Let your hair down and dance your pants off to live music and a DJ.

October 23, 24, 25, 2009 - Cosom Hockey Tournament -
Get your teams ready to face off in this World Series of Hockey. Details to be announced.

February 19, 20, 21, 2010 - Basketball Tournament -
Get your game on and team ready, Dawson’s has hoop dreams. Full details to be announced.

May 15, 2010 - Dawson Community Centre -
- 50th anniversary Gala Dinner -
This red carpet event will celebrate the efforts of the people who have made Dawson Community Centre all that it is. This dinner fundraiser will take a look back at our accomplishments while we feast and forge visions that will write the history of the next 50 years.
